Roofing Material - Supplies

There are several factors to take into account when choosing roofing material, these include: style, size, weight and price. For example, the style of the building itself, as well as the roof covering of surrounding buildings, will be a key consideration in your choice of material and you may find that local authority planning regulations restrict your options.

Flat, felt roofs are less expensive in terms of both materials and installation than traditional pitched, tiled roofs but tend to be considered less attractive.

A pitched roof with dormer windows or other awkward shapes to work around, might be best suited to a smaller tile while larger tiles, which are likely to be more economical, are well-suited to simple gable to gable roofs.

Recent innovations mean that there are now tiles which help you to meet environmentally-friendly goals and ones which can even reduce pollutants in the air.

If you are renovating an existing building and plan to use modern roofing material, you could incur structural problems if your new roofing material is much heavier than the original. Our roofing contractors can undertake a site survey with the regulatory body to provide guidance.

As roofing experts, we like to share our knowledge so, if you need any advice on roofing material, contact us, we’ll be happy to help.
